Open Call: Join Conversations on Participatory Advocacy

Do you engage your members or wider community in decision-making to enhance democratic inclusion, advocate for policy change, or defend human rights? We want to hear from you!

Citizen OS has launched an open project aimed at connecting with groups and organisations dedicated to advocacy, activism, and other forms of meaningful democratic engagement.

Who are we looking for?

Anyone advocating for change in a way that truly involves the people it affects, including:

  • Civic movements
  • Local community groups
  • Youth organisations
  • Non-profit organisations
  • Local governments

We’re looking to connect with groups or organisations who are taking a participatory approach to advocating for policy or governance changes by actively involving those affected in discussions and decision-making. So, if you advocate for change in a participatory way, we’d love to invite you to a short research call!

Why participate?

The aim of the call will be to understand the challenges facing participatory advocacy practitioners, in order to better help you to solve them.

The calls usually last one hour, but if you can’t spare that long, even just 30 minutes would be valuable. We can also be very flexible to find a date that suits you.

Flexible, short calls

  • We’ll share our research findings so you and other like-minded organisations can apply them.
  • You can offer insights that help us refine free tools and resources to better support participatory initiatives.
  • Together, we can create new synergies and combine our efforts for a more participatory society.

Why does this matter?

As democratic spaces shrink amidst social, environmental, and political challenges, civic society must collaborate, share knowledge, and pursue solutions together.

We’re a
non-profit organisation with a mission to empower as many people as possible to participate in respectful, meaningful discussions. So that everyone, everywhere, can decide together on issues that affect their own wellbeing.

Want a more participatory society? So do we! Let’s join forces!
